‘One child, One teacher, One book and One pen can change the world’ – Malala Yousafzai
I Am Malala is an amazing book, with devastating turns and warming events. I Am Malala is all about one unafraid girl willing to stand up and fight for the freedom of her country – Malala!
Malala was born in 1997 and was 10 when the Taliban took over her country. Since then, she has made speeches about the ordeals she has been through, written and shared a secret diary under a different identity, won the Afghanistan National Peace Prize, spoken to the UN and the list goes on!
My favourite parts in this book is when Malala gets to meet Mr Barack Obama and tells him about the people around the world who are suffering. One other favourite part of mine is when Malala moves to Birmingham and is very surprised by what she sees, but soon settles in!
Is I Am Malala Worth Reading?
The message of this story, for me, is to never ever stop believing in your dreams, and if something bad is happening and no one else has the courage to stand up and show hope, then you can be the first to do so!
This was a great autobiography to read; it keeps you entertained and hurls you into a sea of emotions, while also taking you into a bundle of happiness!
Overall I would definitely recommend this book to everyone, but I think that Y5 and above will love it!
