Three brothers, one mother, and a girl called Molly…
Private Peaceful is about the hardships of World War I and how soldiers were treated unfairly and stripped of their rights. Most of all, this book is a tale of two brothers who stick together through thick & thin.
When Charlie’s, Tommo’s, and Big Joe’s father dies and their mother is struggling to cope by herself, a small village girl called Molly makes her way into their lives. She brings joy wherever she goes and makes them happy. However, disaster strikes when Charlie and Tommo are called to war, and their lives change forever.
My favourite character is Charlie. He is always cheerful, even in the hardship of war, and he keeps everyone involved, happy, and hopeful during the most dismal times. He is also the most supportive and kind brother that Tommo could have ever needed.
Is Private Peaceful Worth Reading?
Overall, this is a great book to read, although I would probably not want the book to end on a cliffhanger.
I know that you will love at much as I do. If you want to find out more, than why not read Private Peaceful.
