Imagine a world where robots did everything, are everywhere, and each person has their own personalised robot. These robots are all the same and follow orders perfectly. But what would happen if one robot was broken, wasn’t normal at all, and was separated from the others – almost as if that robot went wild?

Let me introduce you to Roz. Roz is short for ROZZUM unit 7134. She is one of the few robots that gets washed up on the shores of an island after a disastrous storm. The story begins when Roz ventures into the forest, and after trying to survive for a few days, she comes across a miracle – a moment that changes her forever and finds a place in her heart. Though not all the animals welcome her immediately, she faces many obstacles at first, including trying to build herself a home. During her time on the island, Roz faces a series of challenges and makes many friends. However, soon enough, her creators discover that she is missing. What will she do? So the question is… will Roz choose the beloved wild or the humans?

My favourite part of the series is when Roz gets sent to live with a farmer and his two children. I enjoyed this part because Roz gets to know them and learn about their life.

My favourite character is Roz because she not like other robots. She has evolved differently, and instead of trying to be normal, she embraces the fact that she is different. This is why she makes so many animal friends and has all the qualities of being a good friend.

Overall I love this series because the author makes you think about the future. I think that one day robots will be everywhere, and we may start to care less about our environment and how much it means to us.

I think that Y4 and above will love this book, but anyone who enjoys adventure will love this book too!
