In my opinion, this is the best book about woman, work and the will to lead. In Lean In, Sheryl Sandberg describes how woman have limited opportunities and what they can do to make things better. This book is for both men and women. You should have an open mindset and not think that stereotypical beliefs are your limits.

My favourite part in this book was when a study was conducted on a university about a woman called Heidi, who is really successful. The school gave students Heidi’s life story but changed her name to Howard. There was both a Heidi and a Howard, but the same life story. Next they asked students to read both of papers and decide who they thought was more inspirational. 80% more of the students said Howard than Heidi. This proves our mindset and way of thinking can affect our judgement.

Is Lean In Worth Reading?

When girls feel that they are lower than boys in school, this feeling can carry on into adulthood, making them believe that they are lower than men. This is something I always remind myself, and it’s a really useful message from the book. This book made me feel empowered and made me feel like I could do anything.

This book was a great book to read and it will really inspire you to make a difference!
