Fires, falling tower blocks, and a mysterious plant…
Meet Ade and his mum. Ade loves his tower block, and he loves looking out of the window – a complete opposite to his mum, who prefers staying inside in bed. Life goes on as normal until one day Ade notices other tower blocks falling and realises that his own tower is no longer safe.
They have just moved into a small tower block that feels safe and happy. Ade and his best friend, Gaia, love playing together and doing silly things. However, one day a devastating report appears on the news – a report that changes Ade’s life forever. Ade and Gaia must be brave and act quickly. With the help of their parents, they must try to save Ade’s tower before it is too late.
My favourite part in this book is when Ade is thinking about his mum when she was not sick. I like this moment because it makes me feel happy and reminds me that family is important.
My favourite character is Ade because of his bravery and courage, even in the darkest of times.
Overall I liked this book, although at times I felt the story moved a little too quickly. However, I would still recommend it to anyone who enjoys adventure and friendship stories – but with a twist!
